THE Oxenford and Coomera Community Youth Centre is once again holding a job preparation course designed to help members of the community to enter or re-enter the workforce.
The course if free and funded by the Australian Government’s Department of Employment and Training.
The next course begins on Tuesday, June 12 and will run for two weeks.
    The course

involves modules which discuss employment options, goal setting, personal development, career pathway development, interview techniques, resume development, and computer skills.     There is also childminding available if there is enough demand, allowing mothers to attend the courses.
The results of the course to date have been outstanding, with around 80 per cent of participants

obtaining work.

The Centre offers ongoing community
support by offering playgroups and social activities for parents and their children.

The Northern Gold Coast Communities for Children operate a hub from the Centre as well as four other hubs in the area.   These hubs offer a variety of activities for children in the 0-5 age group.
A new initiative for the hub is pram pushing, held at the Centre on Tuesdays. The Centre is also

hoping to run a gym activities program for toddlers beginning in the next few weeks.

The Centre is buzzing with all kinds of activities from playgroups to hip-hop courses, to Morning Melodies for seniors, so there is something available for everyone.
For details on the job preparation course or other programs, call the coordinator Bronwyn Lacy on 5529 8087.
