The Coomera/Oxenford area is the fastest growing region of Australia's fastest growing city. Almost all of the growth predicted to take place on the Gold Coast over the next decade will be in this corridor. Extensive planning has been carried out to make sure this growth takes place in an orderly, disciplined way. However, the unparalleled growth has created an immediate demand for a focal point for the youth of the area and the young families who have already made Coomera/ Oxenford their home.

Social support is needed to make sure that young people have a secure, well-run and self-sustaining venue for healthy and constructive sport, leisure and recreational activity. Young people desperately need a sense of belonging in today's fast-paced and often high-pressured world. The Oxenford & Coomera Community Youth Centre provides an important infrastructure to help build community spirit and to foster strength of character and purpose in this busy suburban centre of the future.

In time, two or three such centres will be needed to cater for the demands of young people and the aspirations of the community. This project is a response to the challenge to meet these demands as they arise rather than waiting for a crisis point to be reached.

The youth of Coomera/Oxenford today will be its citizens of the future. The centre's vision is to ensure the youth of today have a chance to grow up in an environment that makes them proud of their homes and families.

The centre first opened its doors on the 27th of November, 2004, and is located at 25 Oxenford-Tamborine Road, Oxenford, in Queensland.
