The Smith Family works to unlock opportunities for financially disadvantaged children and their families. They promote education as a means of increasing participation through lifelong learning and do this through the provision of reading, computer and financial literacy support.

The Smith Family offer an incredible range of programs, and the Centre is fortunate to have them running their Learning for Life and Saver Plus programs on-site.

By providing direct financial assistance for the essentials such as textbooks, school equipment and uniforms, a Learning for Life sponsorship means a child can get the most out of their education. Your sponsorship also gives access to a critical network of support that includes tutoring, mentoring, coaching and literacy programs.

As students progress through their education sponsorships increase in value in order to meet their growing financial needs. Sponsorships range from $324 for primary school children to $2000 for post-secondary students per annum.

Since 1988, more than 40,000 children have been able to build a better future through Learning for Life thanks to the support of caring Australians who have become their sponsors.

Saver Plus is operated in partnership with ANZ and is based on a matched savings model designed to help low income earners build assets and move towards self-sufficiency and long-term prosperity. The results from the initial pilot were outstanding, showing more than 80% of participants continue to save after finishing the program. The Smith Family currently facilitates the program in five regions around NSW, ACT and QLD.
